To launch the program this year, students and their families celebrated in a Kick Off Night at the Hudson Maxim School on November 2nd. Superintendent Mrs. Randina opened the night with inspiring words for students and parents expressing her enthusiasm for this exciting yearlong initiative. First grade teacher Mrs. DeMetro's uncle, Jack O'Leary, spoke to the students about engineering and shared his excitement for the project as well. Mr. O'Leary also had the honor of judging the night’s competition where students and their families participated in the building of the tallest structure constructed of index cards, pipe cleaners, tape, foil, and other various materials.
